Since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine on February 24, 4481 civilians have been killed, 5565 injured, reported the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. This is the updated data as of June 16th. Among the dead were 284 children.

2,611 civilians were killed in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, 3,103 were injured. According to the UN, 175 of them died in the regions controlled by the DPR and LPR, and 719 people were injured.

On the territory of the regions previously controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, 2,436 and 2,384 people were killed and injured, respectively.

In other regions of Ukraine, 1,870 civilians were killed and 2,462 were injured.

UN figures do not include military casualties. On June 1, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that up to 100 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine die every day in the country as a result of hostilities. “The situation is very difficult. Every day we lose from 60 to 100 soldiers killed and about 500 wounded in battle, — he said. On June 16, the head of the Ukrainian delegation, David Arakhamia, said that the Ukrainian army loses from 200 to 500 people a day.

The Russian Ministry of Defense last reported on losses among the Russian military on March 25. Then it reported that 1,351 and 3,825 Iranian servicemen were killed during the hostilities in Ukraine.
